Math Man
From TedTycoon.co.uk
Math Man was a tile based game where you control a character around a maze and solve simple mathematical sums to open doors. It was written in C++ in the summer of 2009 using SDL as it's rendering engine. The game features a random maze generator which wraps meaning if you go off the end of one side you appear back on the other side. Random doors and life balls are placed around the maze for you to collect and go through. When you come to a door, the player is given a random sum for them to do to open the door. The difficulty of the sum is based on the colour of the door. If the question is incorrectly answered the door stays closed blocking the route and a life is lost. If all the player's lives are lost then the player loses the game.
The HUD shows the player how many lives they current have and a mini map of the level. It also shows the time remaining but this wasn't implemented before the game was abandoned.
