My dad used to write applications in x86 assembly language, so I was intrigued to know more about it as well as understanding what high level code is actually compiled into. My dad helped me learn it and I practised by writing small functions of inline assembly in C++. With the knowledge of x86 assembly I can now disassemble other applications and change the code, create patches and cheats for games. Tools such as IDA Pro Disassembler and Cheat Engine are very useful in this area which I use regularly to reverse engineer games and software.

During my first year at University I learnt the ARM instruction set.
